We accomplish this with:
An integral Programmable Logic Controller that provides fail-safe operation to ensure personnel and equipment safety under normal and abnormal conditions.
Numerous standard safety interlocks that include but are not limited to;
"Weight-On" switch; the weight-on switch automatically deactivates the system if the pilot/copilot is off the seat for more than three seconds. The time interval is modifiable at the maintenance console.
Motion consent control; the motion consent switch provides the pilot or the instructor with the ability to activate/deactivate the DMS at his/her command. The Motion consent control switch is also capable of being set to require both instructor and pilot consent.
Watchdog timer; the watchdog timer will detect computer failure. It is housed inside the electronics chassis and used to detect a computer failure and if detected, shuts down the DMS.

Easily recognizable switches that disconnect all electrical power for an orderly shutdown of the DMS software in the event of power loss, reduction, or interruption. The DMS is capable of withstanding an Emergency Power Outage and of being operational within twelve minutes after power is restored.
